I have graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore and completed post-graduation in ENT in the same institute by 2001. I went to the UK following this and completed my training in ENT after working under some of the world-renowned surgeons and hospitals in London, Manchester and Glasgow. I have returned back to India in 2013 and have been practising since then. I have worked at various hospitals including Continental Hospital, Rainbow children Hospitals and Apollo Spectra Hospitals. Currently, I am working at Star hospitals.
I have noticed that the medical practice in India is largely unregulated, unlike in western countries. Often patients are confused as to whom to believe. There are ads everywhere which mention the various tools they have like laser and robot etc. There are various alternative therapies and medications which have variable results. There is a lack of accountability due to which patient loses the confidence of doctors. I believe firmly in the PATIENT FIRST practice. At the end of the day, the utmost importance in whole health care is, the patient. I would practice almost in a similar way that we practice in the western world. We do proper documentation, a clear plan of action and appropriate treatment provided. I seldom ask for any investigations and refrain from using the majority of unnecessary medication. I am glad to stay that majority of my patients are happy which is evident in their testimonials that are provided in various websites like google and practo. I am here to make a change to our health care system and well being of patients.
